⚠️ Draft document. This text is a starting point intended for legal review by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before publication. It is not legal advice. Consumer-protection law in the EU and UK is mandatory and overrides anything in this document that conflicts with it.

Updated 2026-10-31 for SchoolNossa OÜ, an Estonian company: section 13 now chooses Estonian law. Have a lawyer confirm the text before publication.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you and SchoolNossa OÜ. By creating an account or using NewsNossa (the "Service") you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

⚠️ Important notice — please read

NewsNossa produces audio briefings using large language models and other artificial-intelligence systems. Like all generative AI, those systems are non-deterministic: the same configuration can produce different output on different runs, and the output may be incomplete, outdated, mis-attributed, paraphrased in a misleading way, or entirely fabricated ("hallucinated").

By using the Service you acknowledge:

  1. We do not, and cannot, guarantee the truth, accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any briefing. The veracity of any individual detail in a briefing cannot be promised because of the non-deterministic nature of the underlying models.
  2. Briefings are not advice and not a basis for important decisions. You must not rely on a briefing — by itself or in combination with other briefings — to make any financial, investment, trading, business, legal, medical, professional, safety, life-event, or similarly important decision. Where you intend to act on something you heard in a briefing, you must independently verify it with the original primary source and, where appropriate, with a qualified professional adviser.
  3. The creator and operator of the Service is not responsible for any loss you suffer from acting on a briefing. SchoolNossa OÜ is not liable to you or to any third party for any decision you make, any action you take, or any consequence you suffer that is based, directly or indirectly, on the content of a briefing. This includes, without limitation, financial loss, missed opportunity, regulatory exposure, injury, and reputational harm.

Sections 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 10 and 11 below restate these points in operative legal language. They control over any informal description of the Service in the app or on our website.

1. The Service

1.1 What NewsNossa is

NewsNossa is a personal audio-news application. You configure topics, industries, regions, and named entities you care about. We periodically collect publicly available news articles relating to your configuration, synthesise an editorial-style summary using artificial intelligence, and deliver an audio briefing through the app. You may also publish a briefing configuration and let other users subscribe to it ("shared briefings"); see Section 6.

1.2 What the Service is not

The Service does not provide, and is not intended to constitute:

You are solely responsible for any decision you make on the basis of a briefing.

1.2.1 No reliance for important decisions

You agree not to rely on a briefing — alone or together with other briefings — when making any decision that has, or could have, a financial, legal, medical, professional, life, safety, or otherwise material consequence for you or for another person. This includes, but is not limited to:

If you intend to act on something you heard in a briefing you must independently verify it with the original source article and, where appropriate, consult a qualified professional adviser.

1.3 AI-generated content and non-determinism

Briefings are produced by automated systems, including large language models, retrieval pipelines, and text-to-speech. Such systems are probabilistic and non-deterministic by design: identical inputs can yield different outputs, and the output is not guaranteed to be truthful. Specifically, briefings can:

We do not, and cannot, promise that the details in any briefing correspond to reality. Each briefing's "Sources" view links to the original articles. Treat those originals — not the briefing itself — as your source of truth. Where a briefing concerns a regulated subject (for example finance, politics, health, or the law) you must verify any claim with a primary source before relying on it.

1.4 Third-party content

Source articles, headlines, and excerpts referenced inside a briefing remain the intellectual property of their original publishers. We claim no ownership of source material. We rely on principles of fair use, fair dealing, and citation to produce summaries; this does not transfer any rights in the underlying works to you. You may not redistribute source articles obtained through the Service except via the original publisher's link.

1.5 No professional advice — explicit waiver

Nothing in any briefing, in the app, or in any communication from the Service is, or is intended to constitute, financial, investment, trading, tax, accounting, banking, insurance, legal, regulatory, medical, psychological, safety, or other professional advice. We are not your financial adviser, broker, lawyer, doctor, or fiduciary, and no fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Service.

You expressly agree that:

This Section 1.5 is a fundamental basis on which we make the Service available to you and survives termination of these Terms.

2. Eligibility, accounts, and identity

2.1 Minimum age

You must be 16 years of age or older to use the Service. If you are under 16, you are not permitted to register an account or use the Service. We do not knowingly process personal data of children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has registered, please contact us so we can delete the account.

2.2 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate registration information, to keep it current, and to use one personal account only. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including actions taken by anyone you permit to use it. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access.

2.3 Authentication providers

You may sign in with email and password, with Apple, or with Google. Authentication is operated through Firebase Authentication; the provider's terms apply to the authentication step.

3. Your configuration data

3.1 What you provide

When you create a briefing you configure topics, industries, regions, named entities, and a delivery schedule. You also provide a briefing title and an optional description. Together this is your "Configuration Content".

3.2 Your warranties

You warrant that:

3.3 Our rights

We may refuse, edit, or remove Configuration Content that, in our reasonable judgment, breaches these Terms or applicable law. We may also terminate or suspend any account for repeated breach.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules with immediate effect.

5. Credits, subscriptions, and payment

5.1 Nature of credits

The Service uses an internal currency called "credits". Credits are non-monetary virtual goods consumed when a briefing is generated or a shared briefing is downloaded. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred outside the Service.

5.2 How you obtain credits

You obtain credits by purchasing them as one-off top-ups, by purchasing a subscription that grants a recurring monthly credit allowance, or by receiving complimentary credits we may grant (for example a starter balance for a new account). Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or another store provider via RevenueCat. The provider's payment terms apply.

5.3 Pricing and changes

Prices are shown in the app at the point of purchase. We may change pricing for future purchases at any time; previously-paid amounts are not affected. Where the law of your country requires advance notice for recurring-subscription price changes, we will give that notice through the app or by email.

5.4 Right of withdrawal (EU/UK consumers)

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to withdraw from a digital-content purchase within fourteen (14) days. You expressly waive that right when you explicitly request immediate access to credits or to a generated briefing — for example by tapping "Buy" on a credit pack or "Generate" on a briefing — and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once we begin to deliver the digital content. Where withdrawal still applies (for example if no content has been delivered in respect of a purchase), refunds are issued through the original store.

5.5 Refunds outside withdrawal

Outside the right of withdrawal described above, credits and subscription payments are non-refundable except where mandatory consumer law requires a refund. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact the store provider that processed it (Apple, Google) and us in parallel.

5.6 Generation cost

A briefing's exact credit cost depends on its frequency, topic count, and entity list. The estimated cost is shown in the wizard before you finalise a briefing. Costs are calculated at the moment a briefing run starts and are non-refundable once a run has begun. We may change the generation-cost formula for future runs; we will not retroactively change the cost of a run that has already executed.

6. Shared briefings (publisher terms)

6.1 Becoming a publisher

If you mark a briefing as public, you become the publisher for that briefing. Other users may subscribe to your briefing and listen to its episodes; they do not receive a copy of your configuration.

6.2 Publisher warranties

When you publish a briefing you additionally warrant that:

6.3 Licence to us

You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, transcode, distribute, and display the briefing through the Service for the purpose of operating shared subscriptions. The licence ends when you unpublish the briefing or close your account, except that we may retain audit copies for legal or billing purposes.

6.4 Cost-sharing among subscribers

When subscribers join a shared briefing, the underlying generation cost is split between participants according to a tiered model that we publish in the app. We may revise the cost-sharing model from time to time; we will give notice of material changes before they take effect.

6.5 Subscriber rights

Subscribing grants listening access only. Subscribers receive no ownership, copying, redistribution, or sub-licensing rights in any briefing, in your configuration, or in the source articles cited.

7. Service availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available continuously, but we make no uptime, availability, or quality-of-service warranty. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. Where a change materially reduces the value of a recently-paid subscription, we will refund a prorated portion if mandatory law so requires.

We may update these Terms. The current version is always the version shown in the app. If a change is material we will request your renewed acceptance at next sign-in. Continued use of the Service after a non- material change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account in Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, chargeback dispute, or where we are required to do so by law. On termination:

We will retain personal data only as long as our Privacy Policy and applicable law require.

9. Intellectual property in the Service itself

The app, its design system, code, brand marks, generated audio voices, and aggregated metadata are the property of SchoolNossa OÜ or its licensors and are protected by copyright, database, trade-mark, and other intellectual-property law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial use. No other rights are granted.

10. Warranty disclaimers

The Service, the briefings, and any related content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, freedom from viruses, and non- infringement. Nothing in this section limits any warranty that mandatory EU or UK consumer law grants you and that cannot be contracted out of.

11. Liability

11.1 Cap

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred euros (€100) or (b) the total amount you paid us in that period.

11.2 Excluded losses

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost savings, lost data, or losses resulting from decisions made on the basis of a briefing.

11.3 What this section does not limit

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless SchoolNossa OÜ and its officers, employees, and contractors against any third-party claim, loss, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) Configuration Content you supply, (b) a briefing you publish under Section 6, or (c) your breach of these Terms or applicable law. This clause does not apply where a mandatory consumer-protection statute prohibits it.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts at our registered seat in Tallinn, Estonia, have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or in the UK, this clause does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. Miscellaneous

By tapping "Create account" you confirm you have read these Terms and the Privacy Policy and that you accept them.
